Commercial Counsel
Leads US commercial legal support for SaaS, licensing, enterprise sales, and strategic partnership transactions while managing a team and advising on AI-related regulatory risks. Requires a J.D., US bar admission, 8+ years of legal experience, and prior team-management experience.

Responsibilities
- Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements, primarily GTM and sales transactions in North America, including enterprise customer contracts.
- Partner with sales, business development, and operations teams on high-growth go-to-market strategies.
- Monitor and interpret legal and regulatory developments involving data protection, technology, and artificial intelligence.
- Manage a US team of lawyers and contract managers across time zones, segments, and verticals.
- Develop, maintain, and localize contract templates, playbooks, and policies.
- Provide pragmatic, commercially focused legal advice to cross-functional teams.
- Help scale the Legal Team’s commercial function and foster a collaborative, solutions-oriented culture.
Requirements
- J.D. and active membership in at least one US state bar; New York or California preferred.
- At least 8 years of relevant post-qualification legal experience, preferably in-house in technology or SaaS.
- Previous team-management experience in a player-coach capacity.
- Experience drafting and negotiating complex commercial and technology agreements.
- Strong knowledge of enterprise software licensing, SaaS, data protection, and intellectual property.
- Experience advising on privacy, cybersecurity, and cross-border data transfers.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder-management, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in fast-paced environments with shifting priorities.
