Underwriter
Underwriter reviewing homeowner applications for home equity investments, analyzing property and applicant data against guidelines to make investment eligibility recommendations. Requires prior underwriting experience and a bachelor's degree preferred.
What you'll do:
- Work closely with our Sales and Processing teams to review homeowner applications quickly and accurately
- Evaluate applicant and property information against our underwriting criteria, confirm the application is complete, and make informed investment recommendations
- Review and analyze appraisal reports for accuracy and compliance with guidelines, evaluating comparables, market trends, and property conditions to confirm value is supported
- Flag applications that raise concerns around completeness or risk
- Determine eligibility amounts based on your analysis of applicant and property information
- Collaborate with a cross-functional team of Sales and Operations associates to complete each application review
What you bring:
- Prior underwriting experience
- Sharp attention to detail in a fast-paced environment, including strong proofreading and fact-checking skills
- Strong judgment, with comfort making recommendations against a rules rubric and escalating issues and questions as needed
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Comfort handling multiple responsibilities and staying proactive under deadlines
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a client-oriented approach
- An interest in real estate and fintech, and excitement about joining a growing tech company
- Bachelor's degree preferred, ideally in business, finance, or a related field
Compensation:
- The base salary for this role is $75,000 with additional earning potential through a performance-based monthly incentive
