Strategic Operations Associate
Strategic Operations Associate supporting VP of Operations on high-priority cross-functional initiatives, go-to-market strategy, market analysis, and data-driven decision support. Requires 3-5 years in operations/strategy with strong analytical and project management skills.
Responsibilities
Strategic Project Management & Execution
- Partner closely with the VP of Operations to scope, coordinate, and execute strategic projects across the business
- Manage cross-functional initiatives involving Sales, Marketing, Customer Success, Product, Finance, and Operations teams
- Facilitate communication, track progress, identify blockers, and drive follow-through on initiatives
- Jump into ambiguous or time-sensitive projects as needed, organizing workstreams from idea to execution
Go-to-Market Strategy & Business Analysis
- Assist with pricing, packaging, segmentation, competitive positioning, and related business analysis
- Conduct research on industry trends, customer segments, competitors, market dynamics, and new opportunities
- Support total addressable market analysis and strategic assessments for growth opportunities and market expansion
- Assess potential new markets by researching market size, customer needs, competitive landscape, and strategic fit
Data Analysis & Strategic Insight
- Use data to support strategic recommendations, business cases, and operational decisions
- Build analyses that help leadership evaluate opportunities, tradeoffs, and risks
- Gather inputs from internal systems and external sources, synthesizing into concise updates, memos, presentations, and recommendations
- Use AI tools to accelerate research, structure analysis, and improve quality and speed of strategic work
Operational Structure & Problem Solving
- Bring structure to undefined problems by clarifying objectives, identifying key questions, and driving work forward
- Create lightweight systems for tracking projects, decisions, owners, timelines, and follow-ups
- Approach new problems with curiosity, judgment, and initiative, moving fluidly between strategic thinking and detailed execution
Requirements
- 3–5 years of experience in operations, strategy, consulting, business operations, or a similarly analytical/project-based role
- Strong quantitative and analytical skills with ability to structure problems, work with data, and support strategic decision-making
- Comfort working in Google Sheets or Excel for analysis, modeling, tracking, and reporting
- Strong ability to conduct market research, competitive research, and business analysis using internal data, external sources, and AI tools
- Comfortable using AI tools to support research, synthesis, analysis, and execution
- Ability to manage multiple workstreams, coordinate across stakeholders, and ensure follow-through in a fast-paced environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with ability to synthesize complex information into clear updates and presentations
- Comfort operating effectively when problems are not fully defined
