About the role

Responsibilities

  • Develop clear technology and commodity roadmaps for current and future programs.
  • Act as liaison between supply chain and engineering for supplier and component selection during NPI and sustaining projects.
  • Identify new high-potential suppliers globally.
  • Cultivate productive relationships with supply chain partners, including vendor selection, cost, support, and product transactions.
  • Own RFIs, RFPs, RFQs, review processes, and business award decisions, ensuring commercial terms are agreed and documented.
  • Drive price negotiation processes to ensure best-in-class commodity pricing.
  • Analyze current spend, evaluate suppliers, maintain commodity consumption forecasts and execution plans.
  • Consolidate spend across supply base, analyze purchasing trends, develop sourcing alternatives.
  • Monitor market conditions, technology roadmaps, identify supply/demand challenges and opportunities.
  • Work with finance and accounting on monthly close, financial planning with component pricing, forecasts, and custom tooling investments.
  • Identify and manage supplier performance metrics (technology availability, competence, component quality, supply, cost).

Requirements

  • Technical & commercial experience in mechanical component surface treatments (e.g., corrosion-resistant, decoration, RF performance coatings of plastics and metals).
  • Experience with Tooling Capacity Management, Tooling Unit Cost targets, Supplier Capacity Management.
  • Strength in directing complex negotiations, RFP issues, cost/price analysis, RFP/Q review, Business Award process, purchasing procedures.
  • Experience using cost models for should-cost and negotiating prices for sourcing/cost reduction.
  • Experience in Supplier Contract, T&Cs, MSA, SOW, NDA negotiation, management, ownership.
  • Experience facilitating ESI (Early Supplier Involvement) between Supplier, Program design, sourcing, procurement.
  • Ability to prepare/present quantitative and qualitative comparative analysis of sourcing alternatives.
  • Ability to manage supplier relationships and performance, including dispute resolution.
  • Interest in emerging technologies in consumer electronics, aerospace, robotics, mechanical component manufacturing processes and materials.

Compensation

  • Annual base salary range: $161,000 - $227,500.
  • Equity in stock options.
