About the role

Impact/Responsibilities

  • Work with Sales to develop account strategies and grow platform usage.
  • Establish Databricks Lakehouse as standard data architecture through technical planning.
  • Build and present reference architectures and demo applications for prospects.
  • Consult on big data architectures, data engineering pipelines, data science/ML projects; validate integrations.
  • Promote Databricks open-source projects (Spark, Delta Lake, MLflow, Koalas) in communities.

Requirements

  • 3+ years in customer-facing pre-sales, technical architecture, or consulting role.
  • Expertise in at least one: Big data engineering (Spark, Hadoop, Kafka); Data Warehousing/ETL (SQL, OLTP/OLAP/DSS); Data Science/ML (pandas, scikit-learn, HPO); Data Applications (Logs Analysis, Threat Detection, etc.).
  • Translate business needs to technology solutions and gain stakeholder buy-in.
  • Experience designing, architecting, presenting data systems, and delivering production solutions.
  • Fluent in SQL and database technology.
  • Debug/development in Python, Scala, Java, or R.

Nice-to-Haves

  • Built solutions with AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  • Degree in quantitative discipline (Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Operations Research).
  • Up to 30% travel.
