About the role
Responsibilities
- Support development and enhancement of BSA/AML models, including transaction monitoring, sanctions screening, customer risk rating, and blockchain analytics.
- Conduct ad hoc analyses and respond to time-sensitive data requests from auditors, regulators, or Compliance teams.
- Drive automation of key compliance processes like KYC, sanctions screening, and suspicious activity reporting.
- Experiment with and deploy AI solutions to improve efficiency.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams (Product, Engineering) to implement tools and processes.
- Contribute to process improvements, code review, testing, project management, and documentation for FCC Analytics team.
Requirements
- 2–3 years of experience in data analytics or data science, with understanding of blockchain, cryptocurrency, and financial services.
- Expert in compliance-related data tables and models; advanced SQL (CTEs, window functions, complex joins, query optimization).
- Proficient in data tools like SQL, Looker, advanced Excel/Google Sheets.
- Experience with automation and AI tools.
- Strong understanding of business models (custody, staking, stablecoins, trading) and data flows.
- Ability to manage competing priorities, present findings effectively.
Nice-to-Haves
- Experience in financial services, crypto, startups.
- Knowledge of regulatory compliance, financial crimes, risk management.
- dbt, Git, Python/scripting, software engineering best practices.
- Excellent communication for technical/non-technical audiences.
