About the role
Responsibilities
- Oversee all brokerage related accounting and reporting functions, ensuring compliance with regulations.
- Lead design, documentation, and implementation of policies, processes, and controls.
- Work cross-functionally with legal, compliance, and other teams for swap-dealer registration with NFA.
- Lead accounting team through digital asset and OTC derivative prime brokerage activities.
- Drive development of scalable and automated financial processes and controls, including trading system reporting and external tool integrations.
- Perform/review month-end close for brokerage entities: journal entries, reconciliations, variance analysis, FBO fiat/digital asset reconciliations.
- Support internal/external audits.
- Create/maintain documentation of accounting and regulatory reporting processes.
- Identify process improvements and efficiencies.
- Provide guidance to product, operations, legal, and engineering teams for new products.
- Interact with regulators (NFA, CFTC).
Requirements
- 10+ years related accounting experience (mix of Big 4 and startup/Fintech).
- Expertise in US GAAP (ASC 606, ASC 815), regulatory accounting for swap-dealers, NFA filings.
- Experience accounting for digital assets, prime brokerage, borrowing/lending, derivatives.
- Knowledge of blockchain/crypto economy.
- Advanced Google Sheets for large datasets.
- Handle complex matrix orgs and intercompany transactions.
- NFA Series 3 License or obtain within 6 months.
- Work autonomously in dynamic environment, process improvements, multitasking.
