Software Engineer, Marketplace

Responsibilities

• Plan, design, and implement features for the Marketplace platform, facilitating outsourced maintenance and payments for vendors and customers.
• Collaborate with Product Managers, Designers, Quality Engineers, and other Engineers to deliver high-quality software.
• Participate in collaborative feature design and architecture.
• Deliver well-tested, maintainable, and performant code.
• Research and implement prototypes and technical spikes to validate assumptions and feasibility.
• Contribute actively to development and planning processes.
• Review peer code for quality, consistency, and knowledge sharing.

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience with Ruby on Rails, React, and/or TypeScript.
• Firm understanding of object-oriented programming and relational databases such as PostgreSQL.
• Experience solving challenging architecture problems through sound design.
• Experience with unit testing frameworks.
• Excellent written communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail and quality, with the ability to make tradeoffs.

Nice-to-haves

• Expertise in data modeling and query performance optimization.
• Experience leading small teams or projects.
• Knowledge of the fleet management industry.
• Experience building APIs for consumer or mobile app consumption.
