Build and support end-to-end distributed systems for Clear Street’s financial-market businesses, spanning client applications and backend services. The role requires at least one year of professional experience, Java and TypeScript/JavaScript expertise, and a bachelor’s degree or higher.

Responsibilities
- Build and design new solutions for Clear Street’s Securities Finance, Futures, Execution Management, Risk, Custody, and Clearing systems.
- Work closely with business partners and engineering teams in Sweden and New York.
- Build client-side applications focused on usability and navigation, as well as server-side systems for data storage, security, and performance.
- Support existing business systems and troubleshoot performance issues, taking corrective action as needed.
- Support and operate systems in production.
- Contribute to a DevOps-oriented culture and CI/CD practices.
Requirements
- At least 1 year of hands-on professional experience designing and developing mission-critical distributed systems with demanding performance, resiliency, and consistency requirements.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Financial Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience with Java and TypeScript/JavaScript.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Motivation to learn new skills and work effectively in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with backend, frontend, or DevOps engineering and an interest in working end-to-end across projects.
- Experience with Golang, Python, React, AWS, Kubernetes, gRPC, Protobuf, PostgreSQL, Kafka, Redis, and Docker.
- Understanding of financial markets, asset classes, and the technical requirements of financial systems.
