Technical Program Manager, API Platform
Drive scaling and efficiency programs for Anthropic's API stack, coordinating across infrastructure, networking, and inference teams to deliver complex, cross-functional initiatives. Requires 7+ years of TPM experience with API platforms and distributed systems.
About the job
Responsibilities
- Drive scaling and core efficiency programs for the API stack from architectural direction through sequenced, deliverable execution
- Run multiple large programs simultaneously across infrastructure, networking, and the API layer
- Act as the connective tissue between API, infrastructure, database, networking, and inference teams, owning cross-org dependencies end to end
- Establish decision-making clarity: who owns what, where trade-offs get made, and how isolated streams roll up into one program view
- Surface risks, progress, and trade-offs to engineering leadership with the right altitude and cadence
Requirements
- 7+ years of technical program management experience, with a track record of successfully delivering complex, cross-functional programs
- Experience with API platforms, distributed systems, and core infrastructure programs and can engage meaningfully with the engineers who design and operate them
- Experience driving scaling, performance, or efficiency programs for high-volume production systems, including the tradeoffs across performance, reliability, and cost
- Experience coordinating programs spanning many partner organizations, managing cross-team dependencies, commitments, and escalations at the working level
- Highly organized and can manage multiple parallel workstreams effectively across distributed teams
- Thrive in unstructured environments with a knack for bringing order to chaos and creating clarity in ambiguous situations, including where decision ownership is unclear
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence without authority
- Passionate about Anthropic's mission and interested in the challenges of operating AI infrastructure safely and reliably
Education
- Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience
- Field of study relevant to the role as demonstrated through coursework, training, or professional experience
