Responsibilities
Embed with Compliance leadership and frontline teams to identify high-value automation opportunities across transaction monitoring, sanctions screening, regulatory change management, and exam preparation.
Rapidly prototype solutions using Coinbase’s existing AI platform as the default foundation.
Own the Compliance automation roadmap with the Chief Compliance Officer and Compliance leadership.
Translate regulatory workflows—including case resolution, trade surveillance, risk assessment, and policy management—into engineering requirements and communicate engineering constraints to stakeholders.
Define build-versus-buy strategies for Compliance tooling, including internal builds, partner-team solutions, vendors, and retirements.
Design automated compliance outputs with traceability, reviewability, auditability, approval gates, evidence retention, and human-in-the-loop controls.
Drive adoption through brown-bag sessions, prototype walkthroughs, and stakeholder feedback loops.
Requirements
5+ years of software engineering experience shipping production systems in ambiguous, stakeholder-heavy environments; greenfield experience is a strong plus.
Hands-on experience deploying LLM-based applications, including prompt engineering, evaluation frameworks, hallucination guardrails, and human-in-the-loop design for high-stakes outputs.
Ability to work with non-technical domain experts, internalize complex workflows, and translate them into engineering requirements.
Familiarity with compliance and regulatory systems concepts, including transaction monitoring, sanctions screening, regulatory filing workflows, case management, and audit-ready data handling.
Familiarity with multi-agent orchestration, including agent handoffs, escalation, and auditability.
Experience in forward deployed engineering, solutions engineering, or embedded technical advisory roles, ideally in compliance technology, RegTech, or financial services.
Ability to use generative AI responsibly, maintain human oversight, and deliver business-ready outputs with measurable workflow improvements.
Compensation and Benefits
Annual base salary: $218,025–$256,500 USD.
Total compensation may also include equity and bonus eligibility.

Leads post-sale technical delivery and adoption for strategic retail customers, coordinating complex Data and AI use cases from technical win through production. Requires 5+ years of technical program delivery experience, customer-facing architecture or consulting experience, programming skills, and executive stakeholder management.
