About the role

Key Responsibilities

  • Own end-to-end revenue recognition under ASC 606 across subscriptions, licenses (cloud and on-prem), professional services, and hardware arrangements.
  • Review customer contracts for accounting implications including performance obligations, SSP, variable consideration, contract modifications, and termination clauses.
  • Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue close processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Maintain deferred revenue and unbilled receivables balances and support forecasting of recognized revenue.
  • Serve as the revenue subject matter expert in NetSuite ARM (or equivalent revenue automation tools).
  • Partner with Sales Operations to improve upstream deal quality and data integrity.
  • Prepare technical accounting memos for complex or non-standard arrangements.
  • Own revenue-related audit requests and serve as primary point of contact for external auditors.
  • Help build and maintain SOX-ready documentation, controls, and process narratives.
  • Drive automation and process improvements across revenue workflows.
  • Contribute to the development and documentation of revenue accounting policies and procedures.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA preferred.
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience with at least 3 years focused on ASC 606.
  • Prior SaaS or technology industry experience is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of multi-element arrangements, SSP, variable consideration, and contract modifications.
  • Experience supporting audits and complex revenue environments.
  • Big 4 experience strongly preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical accounting concepts to non-finance partners.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
