About the role

Responsibilities

  • Own the hardware forecast, including delivery volumes, lease and financing expense, and cash flows.
  • Run budget versus actuals for machine spend and maintain a unified view of fleet costs and variance drivers.
  • Serve as the finance point of contact for machines during forecast and close cycles with Accounting and consolidated FP&A.
  • Coordinate forecast inputs with Capacity Planning and the Compute deal team.
  • Track spend and cash-flow phasing against multi-year hardware commitments and prepayments.
  • Partner with Accounting on the treatment of leases, prepayments, and related agreements.
  • Support chip and accelerator economics analyses led by the Machines finance team.
  • Build reporting that keeps leadership’s machine-spend view current.

Requirements

  • End-to-end ownership of a forecast or budget at a hardware, semiconductor, hyperscaler, or infrastructure-heavy business.
  • Strong driver-based modeling, budget-versus-actual, and variance-analysis skills.
  • Experience partnering closely with engineering and commercial teams under deal-timeline pressure.
  • Passion for building safe, transformative AI systems.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience in a relevant field.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 7+ years in FP&A, strategic finance, or capacity/infrastructure finance.
  • Capacity planning or infrastructure FP&A experience at a hyperscaler or major chip maker.
  • Experience building forecast infrastructure for a new or rapidly changing spend area.
  • Fluency with lease and long-term-agreement accounting.
  • MBA, CFA, or equivalent.
