About the role

Responsibilities

  • Co-create and drive strategic communications to elevate Carta’s global market presence. Develop and execute PR strategies that amplify Carta’s position as the ERP for private capital in partnership with PR agencies (US, EU, and AMEA). Expand positive brand awareness with key segments including private equity, private credit, venture capital and limited partners. Ensure consistent representation in high-impact media coverage.
  • Oversee PR agencies and speaking consultants to maximize impact. Act as day-to-day contact for US PR agency and speaker bureau, coordinate with EU and AMEA teams for narrative alignment.
  • Craft compelling narratives positioning Carta as innovator at intersection of fintech, AI, employee empowerment, startup culture, and private markets. Use storytelling and media engagement to build brand equity.
  • Manage internal communications in partnership with People team, CMO office, and stakeholders for organizational initiatives and major rollouts.
  • Lead integrated PR campaigns around product developments, acquisitions, partnerships, data insights, policy, and customer stories. Ladder into business and marketing objectives.
  • Amplify strategic partnerships with Corporate Development and Alliances Marketing through joint narratives and co-marketing programs.
  • Advance executive visibility via thought leadership: bylined content, speaking, awards, media engagements on AI, private markets, startups, finance.
  • Cultivate relationships with business, finance, tech, policy press, analysts, influencers.
  • Foster collaboration with legal, finance, marketing, product teams for accurate messaging. Support crisis communications.

Requirements

  • Strategic and analytical thinker who can distill complex technical/product concepts for media.
  • 8+ years in B2B PR and Communications, with at least 3 years in-house.
  • Good relationships with tech and business media (private equity/credit a plus).
  • Ability to unify teams and bring people along in planning.
  • Comfort in fast-paced environment.
  • Experience overseeing PR agency.
  • Understanding of marketing subfunctions.
  • Builds trust collaboratively.
  • BA required.
  • SaaS experience.

Compensation

Minimum cash compensation (salary + commission if applicable): $161,600 - $212,000 in San Francisco and New York.
