Role Scope
Design the tooling and fixtures the factory builds with: weld fixtures, assembly jigs, and lifting and handling tools.
Own fixtures from concept through proving: tolerance stack-ups, repeatability studies, and sign-off.
Manage the tooling lifecycle: maintenance, calibration, revisions, and the register that tracks it all.
Design for the operator: fast loading, mistake-proofing, and safe handling of heavy parts.
What We're Looking For
You've designed production tooling and fixtures for fabrication or assembly, and they're still in use.
You do stack-ups properly and your fixtures hold tolerance at rate.
You've proven fixtures with capability studies, not eyeballs.
You design mistake-proofing in rather than inspecting errors out.
Own production equipment end-to-end from URS through SAT, vendor selection, FAT, installation, integration into controls/data systems for OEE/MES, and post-handoff uptime/cycle-time improvements. Requires hands-on experience launching automation cells, running FATs, integrating sensors/drives/logic, and completing installs with training/spares/documentation.
