Principal Software Engineer, GRC
Leads the architecture and phased delivery of an enterprise organizational model spanning tenancy, data isolation, permissions, audits, and residency requirements. Requires 15+ years of backend engineering experience and a record of driving complex initiatives across teams.
About the job
Responsibilities
- Own the design and multi-quarter delivery of the enterprise organizational model, including hierarchical product lines and business units, isolated data access and ownership, cross-cutting audit workflows, scoped approvals, and EU and GovCloud data residency support.
- Define and evolve core platform abstractions for structurally diverse and conflicting enterprise requirements, solving for general cases rather than one-off accommodations.
- Retrofit a live production system toward a multi-tenant organizational structure by designing safe migration paths, sequencing incremental delivery, and preserving continuity for existing customers.
- Ship meaningful customer value incrementally while progressing toward the complete solution, using product judgment and direct engagement with enterprise customers.
- Drive execution across squads outside the direct area through technical clarity and credibility.
- Partner with Engineering leadership, Product, and Design to translate the long-term enterprise-structure vision into phased deliverables.
- Set technical standards, define reusable patterns, shape architecture across teams, and model engineering excellence.
Requirements
- 15+ years of deep backend engineering experience.
- Experience leading complex, multi-quarter technical initiatives in fast-paced, product-focused environments.
- Experience designing platform abstractions for conflicting enterprise requirements across diverse customers.
- Track record of incrementally shipping large, structurally complex initiatives.
- Experience operating effectively across squads and teams without direct authority.
- Deep familiarity with tenancy models, role-based access control, data isolation, scoped permissions, cross-tenant operations, and access-boundary design.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for explaining complex systems to engineering leadership, product partners, and customer-facing stakeholders.
- Curiosity and sound judgment in applying AI responsibly to improve efficiency and impact.
Nice to Have
- Data residency or GovCloud experience.
Compensation and Benefits
