About the role

Responsibilities

  • Partner with Product Management, Sales, Enterprise Applications, Legal, and Deal Desk to assess revenue recognition positioning for new product initiatives under ASC 606.
  • Author and document revenue accounting policies and technical position papers for new offerings.
  • Research, resolve, and document accounting conclusions for complex, non-routine transactions and corporate acquisitions.
  • Evaluate consumption-based billing models, multi-element packaging, and evolving deployment models to determine accounting treatment and performance obligations.
  • Lead cross-functional initiatives to scale technical revenue processes, improve automation, and reduce launch friction.
  • Serve as the primary contact for technical revenue matters with external auditors.
  • Prepare audit support packages, respond to inquiries, and maintain SOX control documentation.
  • Support month-end and quarterly close execution, revenue reporting, and flux analysis as needed.
  • Support ad hoc technical accounting, merger and acquisition, and finance initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Active CPA license.
  • 5+ years of relevant accounting experience, including at least 2+ years of technical revenue experience.
  • Deep practical expertise with ASC 606, including standalone selling price, performance obligation identification, variable consideration, material rights, contract modifications, and principal-versus-agent analysis.
  • Demonstrated technical accounting research and writing skills, including authorship of audit-ready position papers and policies.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment, influence without direct authority, and explain technical accounting concepts to non-accounting audiences.
  • Experience with revenue controls and external audits in a SOX environment.
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience with NetSuite and Salesforce.
  • Interest in applying AI and automation to finance operations, with practical experience preferred.

Nice-to-haves

  • NetSuite ARM experience.
  • Prior public accounting experience related to revenue and ASC 606.
  • Exposure to merger and acquisition diligence or post-close revenue integration.
  • Proficiency with generative AI tools for productivity and workflow efficiency.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Base salary range: $108,800–$175,000 USD, dependent on geographic location and job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
  • Eligible employees may participate in the Cribl Corporate Bonus Program; certain sales and sales-adjacent roles may be eligible for incentive compensation.
