Responsibilities
- Set the organic growth strategy and own the roadmap, OKRs, and budget. You’re accountable for how Brex shows up organically.
- Build Brex’s AEO/GEO playbook. Own how Brex shows up in ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Claude, and Google AI Overviews: citation strategy, content structured for model retrieval, and the tracking to tell us what’s moving.
- Co-own the technical SEO roadmap with web engineering: site architecture, Core Web Vitals, schema, crawl, page performance. Translate SEO needs into specs engineers can ship.
- Run content strategy and production for organic. Set the editorial bar, own the calendar, and build a production process that doesn’t bottleneck on you.
- Unify our presence across Reddit, G2, YouTube, and other community and review surfaces into one discoverability strategy instead of a collection of side projects.
- Get sales and partnerships up to speed on how organic and AI search are changing, and what that means when they’re in a competitive deal.
- Be a culture carrier for the Growth Marketing team. Model the AI-native, high-ownership way of working we're building toward.
Requirements
- Experience: 8+ years in SEO, organic growth, or digital marketing, with at least 3 years leading a team and owning strategy and budget at a B2B SaaS, fintech, or technology company.
- Pipeline orientation: You connect organic channels to pipeline, revenue, and business outcomes, not just traffic and rankings. You think in SQLs, activation rates, and CAC efficiency.
- Technical SEO depth: You can read crawl logs, diagnose Core Web Vitals issues, direct schema implementations, and partner credibly with engineers on site architecture decisions.
- AI visibility fluency: You’ve actively experimented with citation strategies, structured content for model consumption, or measured share of voice in answer engines. We can’t train this on the job.
- Content instincts: You can tell the difference between content that earns trust and content that fills a page. You have experience building or managing content operations at scale with high editorial standards.
- Vendor management judgment: You’ve managed agencies and know how to hold them to outcomes, not just deliverables. You also know when to stop outsourcing and bring work in-house.
- Comfort with ambiguity: You make consequential decisions with incomplete data. You like building a function from scratch more than running one that’s already humming.
- Experimentation mindset: You treat failure as a feedback loop. You run experiments, kill what doesn’t work quickly, and double down on what does.
Bonus Points
- You’ve navigated a major Google algorithm update that materially impacted your business and can walk through how you diagnosed, adapted, and recovered.
- You understand how retrieval-augmented generation systems select and rank sources, and you can translate that into actionable content and structural strategy.
- You use AI and automation tools in your own workflows. You’re a practitioner, not just a strategist.
- Experience in a regulated or compliance-sensitive industry.
Compensation
