Staff Software Engineer - Context Model Core Team
Leads hands-on development of full-stack platform capabilities for the Celonis Context Model, combining Java backend services with Angular and TypeScript interfaces. The role requires 8+ years of product development experience, distributed-systems expertise, and strong technical leadership.

Responsibilities
- Define, articulate, and drive the technical vision and strategy for the product area, securing stakeholder buy-in.
- Remain hands-on while leading development of complex, critical-path components.
- Improve application performance for big data.
- Participate in product discussions and shape roadmaps, aligning technical feasibility with business goals.
- Establish technical excellence through design reviews, high coding standards, and developer-experience improvements.
- Mentor and grow teammates while helping define an inclusive engineering culture.
Product Work
- Build core platform capabilities for the Celonis Context Model and next-generation process mining.
- Enable customers to model business processes as they operate in reality.
- Add semantic meaning to business data and make it efficiently queryable.
- Partner with AI/ML teams to simplify and accelerate context modeling.
- Enable connected, enterprise-wide process insights.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 8+ years of product development experience with a strong track record of technical leadership.
- Deep experience architecting complex, distributed systems with large-scale data performance challenges.
- Proven ability to consistently deliver high-quality work and elevate team performance and quality standards.
- Ability to turn vague product requirements into concrete, executable technical roadmaps.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, including explaining complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
