Responsibilities
- Lead major initiatives and own a large area of Shepherd's product experience in data collection, automated underwriting, and policy administration.
- Drive technical decisions for your domain.
- Work across the stack and collaborate with underwriting, design, product management, CTO, underwriters, and actuaries.
- Balance innovation with pragmatic delivery, contribute to product strategy and architectural decisions.
- Mentor other engineers and help build company culture.
Requirements
- Thrive in ambiguity and ship product daily with high quality.
- Take end-to-end ownership of features and systems.
- Strong communication to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- 5+ years experience, preferably full-stack, delivering high-impact products.
- Experience with insurance (InsurTech or actuarial preferred).
- Experience with JavaScript/TypeScript (backend/frontend).
