Robotics Engineer: Applications

Responsibilities

• Lead unboxing, setup, and customer training when work cells are delivered.
• Set up and test work cells on customer manufacturing processes.
• Install, troubleshoot, and maintain control components such as proximity sensors, relays, and vacuum ejectors.
• Triage, investigate, and resolve complex issues spanning software, hardware, sensors, and tooling.
• Perform root cause analysis and escalate issues when remote resolution is not possible.
• Respond to customer emails and calls, and make on-site service calls as needed.
• Identify opportunities to expand impact within customer accounts.
• Collaborate with Robotics Software, Hardware, and Product teams on deployments.
• Provide structured feedback to improve product reliability and field engineering experiences.
• Use AI tools to accelerate troubleshooting, debugging, technical documentation, workflow automation, data analysis, and engineering output.
• Work flexible hours aligned with customer manufacturing production schedules.
• Travel to customer sites as needed, up to 75% of the time.

Requirements

• 2 or more years of industry experience demonstrating hands-on hardware and software skills, preferably in manufacturing automation or a similar field.
• Willingness to travel to customer sites in Tijuana and Mexicali, up to 75% of the time.
• Effective communication and strong interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and respond effectively to emergency situations.
• Ability to communicate technical information clearly, verbally and in writing.
• Strong, independent technical problem-solving ability.
• Proficiency working in Linux environments and with remote support tools.
• Professional working proficiency in Spanish and English, written and verbal.
• Willingness to work in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
• Authorization to work in Mexico and maintain work authorization throughout employment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
• Familiarity with industrial facilities and equipment.
• Basic experience with ROS, Python, and/or C++.
• Experience troubleshooting cyber-physical or hardware systems remotely.
• Proficiency in 3D CAD design.
• Demonstrated use of AI tools to automate workflows, analyze data, or accelerate engineering output.
