Software Engineer II, Developer Tooling
Build and operate developer tooling for Auth0’s incident management, status communication, Slack automation, and local development workflows. The role uses TypeScript, Node.js, React, Next.js, cloud infrastructure, APIs, databases, and Terraform to support engineers and customers.

Responsibilities
- Build new features across Auth0's incident management tooling, Slack-based tooling, StatusPage, customer-facing status web application, and local development environments.
- Support tools used by Auth0 engineers and customers during incidents.
- Extend incident tooling to meet FedRAMP requirements.
- Take ownership of the status page and improve incident-status communication to customers.
- Improve test coverage, resilience, and inherited technical debt.
- Learn and use Tines for incident and engineering-operations automation.
- Operate and support services in production.
- Contribute to the design of highly available services.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of professional software engineering experience.
- Proficiency with TypeScript and Node.js.
- Experience with at least one additional programming language, such as Golang or Python.
- Experience building and operating production web applications with React and a framework such as Next.js, including server-side rendering and API routes.
- Experience with cloud infrastructure such as AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure.
- Experience building and consuming REST APIs, integrating with third-party SaaS platforms, and working within rate limits.
- Experience with relational and NoSQL databases, such as Postgres and DynamoDB.
- Experience managing infrastructure as code with Terraform.
- Experience with Statuspage or comparable customer-facing status and incident-communication tooling.
- Experience operating and supporting production services.
- Experience contributing to highly available services.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Redis and caching layers, including TTL strategies and cached-data fallback when an upstream dependency fails.
- Experience with no-code automation platforms such as Tines or Zapier, or the ability to learn new platforms quickly.
- Experience building Slack applications, bots, or slash commands.
- Experience with incident-management processes or tooling such as incident.io or Datadog Incident Management.
- Experience writing automated tests, including end-to-end coverage.
- Experience with data warehouses such as Snowflake.
- Experience with ETL tools such as Apache Airflow.
- Experience with Kubernetes and workflow orchestration such as Argo Workflows.
- Experience with local development tooling such as Docker, devcontainers, or Tilt.
- Experience with data-visualization tools such as Tableau.
- Experience with FedRAMP.
Compensation and Benefits
- Annual base salary range in Canada: $110,000–$151,800 CAD.
- Equity, bonus, and benefits may include health, dental, and vision insurance, RRSP matching, healthcare spending, telemedicine, and paid leave, including PTO and parental leave.
