Own and modernize Jasper’s enterprise governance backend spanning authentication, authorization, organizations, and billing. This hands-on Staff IC role sets architecture, hardens critical systems for scale and security, and mentors engineers while applying AI-native platform practices.

Responsibilities
- Own the end-to-end architecture of the governance domain, including authentication, roles and permissions, organizations, groups, and billing.
- Modernize foundational backend systems for scale, security, extensibility, and AI-native, composable workflows.
- Set technical direction for authentication, authorization, and organizational modeling.
- Translate enterprise requirements into scalable platform capabilities with product and engineering leadership.
- Mentor engineers and raise standards for backend practices, code quality, and architectural rigor.
- Write and review critical-path code while providing technical leadership as an individual contributor.
Requirements
- Working understanding of core AI concepts, including LLMs, agents, tokens, credits, context windows, RAG, and data governance.
- Extensive backend engineering experience owning complex, business-critical systems and hardening them for enterprise scale.
- Deep expertise in authentication/authorization, multi-tenant systems, or billing platforms.
- Experience building for enterprise buyers with strong governance, compliance, and reliability requirements.
- Strong architectural judgment, including the ability to balance pragmatic solutions with long-term platform thinking.
- Track record of technical leadership as an individual contributor, including mentoring and driving technical direction.
- Willingness to remain hands-on with critical-path engineering work.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with roles and permissions, multi-tenant organizations, or other governance systems.
- Experience with billing systems and usage-based pricing models.
- Experience with SSO/SAML, SCIM, audit logs, SOC 2, or ISO 27001.
- Experience integrating LLMs, building agentic workflows, or developing RAG systems.
Compensation & Benefits
- Base salary: $221,000–$260,000.
