About the role

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders and leadership to set goals, develop event strategies, execute plans, and evaluate performance.
  • Build and manage end-to-end event campaign programs including scopes of work, resource plans, budgets, contracts, and timelines.
  • Leverage understanding of Gusto's market positioning and target audiences to inform event decisions on format, venue, messaging, and targeting.
  • Design and produce events ranging from large-scale owned events (500+ attendees) to trade show activations, field events, and intimate customer experiences.
  • Build relationships with external partners including organizers, agencies, and vendors; negotiate terms and ensure delivery.
  • Assemble internal and external resources, fostering collaboration with creative teams, agencies, and production partners.
  • Maintain event budgets, evaluate results, deliver wrap-up reports, and make recommendations to senior leadership.
  • Advocate for event marketing craft, championing breakthrough experience design, emerging event technology, and innovative production approaches.
  • Leverage AI tools for audience analysis, content personalization, post-event reporting, and campaign optimization.

Requirements

  • 7–10 years of experience in event marketing and production, with proven track record producing trade shows, activations, conferences, owned events for 500+ attendees, and white-glove experiences.
  • Passion for event marketing and production with willingness to be hands-on in execution, moving between strategy and operational details.
  • Strong project management and communication skills; ability to manage multiple stakeholders across geographies, keeping programs on time and on budget.
  • Experience managing and collaborating with internal creative teams and external agencies.
  • Passionate and knowledgeable about breakthrough experience design and emerging event technology.
  • Natural cross-functional collaborator who builds and maintains relationships to drive results.
  • Intellectually curious self-starter who asks questions to bring clarity and direction.
  • AI fluency and willingness to integrate AI-powered tools into workflow.
  • Comfort in fast-paced, ambiguous environment while building scalable programs and processes.
  • Frequent travel throughout North America.

Compensation

Cash compensation: $129,000–$157,000 in Denver and Scottsdale; $154,000–$188,000 in San Francisco and New York. Final offers determined by candidate location, experience, and expertise. All full-time employees receive competitive base pay, benefits, and equity (RSUs).
