Product Manager

Responsibilities

• Own the supported product baseline, release contents, release cadence, and inclusion criteria across autonomy software, tactical communications, data platforms, edge-compute hardware, third-party firmware, and COTS components.
• Evaluate candidate products and revisions, guide in/out release decisions, document tradeoffs, and communicate decisions under pressure.
• Create compatibility matrices, diagrams, decision records, release notes, and dependency documentation.
• Align engineering, programs, product leadership, growth, executives, and customers around shared outcomes.
• Define release-health metrics and use lab and field results to improve subsequent releases.
• Maintain configuration documentation covering versions, compatibility, dependencies, and supported capabilities.
• Escalate scope, timeline, and resourcing risks early.
• Communicate what is released, supported, and enabled, including demonstrations for internal and customer audiences.
• Travel up to 25% for field testing, customer deployments, and workshops.

Requirements

• 5–8+ years of product management experience, ideally with defense products.
• Ability to operate strategically and tactically, connecting business goals with technical execution.
• Experience owning a release, baseline, or integrated product across multiple engineering teams and deciding what ships.
• Technical fluency sufficient to earn engineers’ trust, assess feasibility, and engage in technical discussions.
• Strong product judgment connecting field needs and platform constraints to engineering priorities.
• Experience with high-performance, safety-critical, and robust product-development systems.
• Clear communication across engineers, executives, and cross-functional stakeholders.
• Rigorous execution focused on real-world user outcomes.

Preferred Qualifications

• Military background or defense product-management experience.
• Background in autonomy, robotics, or software engineering.
• Experience in fast-paced or startup environments, particularly building 0-to-1 products.
• Familiarity with Agile environments and Jira.

Compensation

• Annual salary: $145,000–$165,000 USD.
