Software Engineer, Applied AI
Build and roll out AI-powered internal tools that automate manual work, improve company operations, and support customer analytics. The role requires end-to-end engineering experience, strong SQL and data modeling, and the ability to turn ambiguous stakeholder needs into adopted solutions.

Responsibilities
- Own internal tools end to end, from problem discovery through architecture, development, rollout, and post-launch fixes.
- Build AI-powered internal systems for document parsing and analysis, agentic workflows, automated research and routing, and workflow automation.
- Partner with leads across Proposals, Customer Operations, Sales, Design, and Engineering to identify inefficiencies and define the right scope.
- Drive company-wide AI enablement and help employees use AI tools effectively.
- Support the external analytics layer of the platform so customers have clear, actionable data.
- Back up the deployment team during implementations.
Requirements
- 2–5 years of engineering, data, or applied AI experience, or equivalent demonstrated capability.
- An end-to-end internal application, automation, or tool that a team still uses.
- Demonstrated fluency shipping with AI tools, including identifying and mitigating their failures.
- Strong SQL and sufficient data modeling experience to work in an existing warehouse and build data models when needed.
- Ability to translate vague stakeholder problems into appropriately scoped solutions.
- Willingness to handle rollout and adoption work after building a solution.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience building internal tooling that required broad organizational behavior change.
- Forward-deployed or solutions engineering experience at an AI or developer tools company.
- Deep familiarity with n8n, Zapier, or similar workflow automation tools.
- Experience in government, healthcare, or another high-consequence environment.
Compensation & Benefits
- Annual salary: $150,000–$180,000.
