About the role

Responsibilities

  • Define and execute 1Password's Applied AI strategy across customer-facing consumer products and experiences.
  • Identify meaningful customer problems that AI can solve.
  • Build organizational and technical capabilities to deliver AI solutions.
  • Ensure all shipped AI experiences meet standards for trust, privacy, security, reliability, and user experience.
  • Partner closely with Product, Design, Security, Privacy, Legal, Compliance, Data, Platform Engineering, and Executive Leadership on near-term investments and long-term AI strategy.
  • Establish teams, operating models, and technical foundations for scaling AI-powered experiences.
  • Recruit, coach, and develop engineering leaders for an evolving AI landscape.
  • Drive cross-functional alignment with Security, Privacy, Legal, Design, Product, and GTM teams.
  • Shape long-term strategy on how AI contributes to product and business goals.

Requirements

  • 12+ years of software engineering experience.
  • 5+ years leading large engineering organizations.
  • Experience leading AI-powered product initiatives.
  • Experience operating in high-growth SaaS environments.
  • Strong understanding of modern AI systems and product development.
  • Experience balancing experimentation with operational rigor.
  • Strong systems-thinking mindset and ability to guide senior technical leaders.
  • Demonstrated success leading leaders with strong talent judgment.
  • Organizational design experience and ability to build high-performing teams.
  • Ability to connect technology strategy to customer outcomes with strong prioritization judgment.
  • Experience partnering closely with Product and Design.
  • Appreciation for security-sensitive environments with strong privacy instincts.
  • Ability to balance innovation with customer trust.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication; comfortable operating with executives and strong cross-functional influence.
