What You’ll Do
- Design and build networking and application infrastructure that provide high levels of scalability, reliability, and performance, while balancing security, maintainability, and operational excellence
- Partner with product and application teams to provide guidance and best practices around scalability, reliability, and performance of productions networking, infrastructure, and software
- Craft solid and clearly explained designs, playbooks, and documentation for teammates and the larger engineering organization
- Improve operational efficiency through automation and deployment or development of new tools
- Be proactive in performance & availability monitoring; provide remediations for systemic issues
- Ingest requirements, scope work, produce estimates and help define deliverables with project timelines
- Work as a team on escalations, resolving critical issues that impact high SLA production systems
Experiences and Capabilities You Bring
- 5+ years of professional software development experience
- Mastery of development for the cloud, leveraging AWS and Data Engineering services (e.g. Databricks, Snowflake)
- Strong experience with infrastructure-as-code
- Understanding of computer networking concepts
- Practical knowledge of security, data privacy and permission management
- Experience with monitoring tools, including logging and alerting
- Adept at troubleshooting and incident response best practices
- Strong DevOps practices and continual improvement of developer experience and CI/CD
- Excellent technical communication and collaboration skills
