Responsibilities

  • Lead complex technical corporate accounting matters across monthly and quarterly close, including financial statement presentation, disclosures, journal entries, reconciliations, ownership, and controls.
  • Own technical accounting for financing, investment, and equity-related arrangements, including classification, measurement, presentation, and disclosure.
  • Advise on leases, commitments, contingencies, guarantees, accruals, prepaid expenses, property and equipment, internal-use software, capitalization, and vendor or partnership arrangements.
  • Advise on strategic investments, acquisitions, joint ventures, and partnerships, applying business-combination, equity-method, variable-interest-entity, consolidation, noncontrolling-interest, and purchase-accounting guidance.
  • Lead impairment and asset-recoverability assessments, including testing, forecasts, fair-value and expected-credit-loss estimates, memoranda, controls, disclosures, and auditor review.
  • Evaluate stock-based compensation, equity awards, earnings per share, capital structure, valuation, dilution, ownership economics, and financial statement presentation.
  • Assess treasury and operating matters involving cash, liquidity, foreign currency, intercompany balances, related parties, and infrastructure or vendor commitments.
  • Develop and defend evidence-backed technical accounting memoranda and position papers grounded in authoritative guidance, materiality, judgment, and economic substance.
  • Translate accounting conclusions into close procedures, journal entries, disclosures, data requirements, ownership, and repeatable controls.
  • Monitor emerging accounting standards and lead accounting-policy, change-management, reporting-process, and strategic-transaction initiatives.
  • Partner with Financial Reporting and Internal Controls on disclosure controls, SOX/ICFR readiness, impairment monitoring, audit trails, valuations, tie-outs, and subsequent-event assessments.
  • Design pragmatic accounting policies, playbooks, decision frameworks, and automation.

Requirements

  • CPA, CA, equivalent accounting qualification, or comparable technical-accounting expertise.
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in technical accounting, accounting advisory, public accounting, corporate controllership, or complex financial reporting.
  • Broad U.S. GAAP expertise across corporate accounting, leases, financial instruments, capitalized costs, share-based compensation, consolidation, impairment, and financial statement presentation.
  • Experience applying ASC 205, 230, 250, 260, 320, 321, 323, 326, 350, 350-40, 360, 450, 460, 470, 480, 718, 805, 810, 815, 820, 830, 842, and 850 as applicable.
  • Experience leading and defending significant accounting positions, preparing or reviewing audit-ready technical memoranda, evaluating competing accounting views, and working with external auditors.
  • Experience with corporate close and reporting, acquisitions or investments, complex ownership structures, consolidation, impairment, and credit-loss assessments.
  • Ability to influence Legal, Treasury, Tax, Corporate Accounting, Financial Reporting, FP&A, valuation, and business leaders while maintaining independent technical judgment.
  • Strong communication skills for explaining complex accounting judgments and strategic implications.

Compensation

  • Annual salary: $216,000–$240,000
