Global Mobility Tax Manager
Owns the strategy, governance, operating model, and controls for global mobility tax across travel, assignments, and cross-border moves. The role requires 8+ years of mobility tax experience, strong technical knowledge, program-building expertise, and cross-functional influence.

Responsibilities
- Set the global mobility tax framework, principles, governance, and service model in partnership with Corporate Tax.
- Develop policies and decision frameworks for international and domestic business travel, assignment planning, cross-border transfers, and other mobility scenarios.
- Design the end-to-end operating model, including ownership, handoffs, controls, escalations, communications, and vendor responsibilities.
- Partner with Payroll, Corporate Tax, Finance, Legal, People, and business leaders to identify tax implications and support workforce decisions.
- Establish reporting, dashboards, program health metrics, and issue-management routines to surface risk and drive remediation.
- Automate high-volume workflows and use AI-enabled tools to improve case handling, documentation, data quality, and employee support.
- Manage external tax advisors and vendor partners, including service quality and delivery against agreed standards and outcomes.
- Monitor regulatory and business changes and continuously strengthen policies and controls.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in global mobility tax, expatriate tax, business-traveler compliance, or a closely related field.
- Experience in both a leading tax advisory firm and an in-house global mobility tax function.
- Experience building or scaling mobility tax programs in a complex, fast-growing, multinational environment.
- Knowledge of individual income tax, payroll withholding and reporting, social security, tax equalization or protection, and business-traveler compliance.
- Ability to translate technical requirements into practical policies, controls, workflows, and clear guidance.
- Track record leading complex cross-functional programs, influencing senior stakeholders, and driving decisions through ambiguity.
- Experience using data, systems, and automation to improve compliance, visibility, efficiency, and service quality.
- Experience managing global vendors and implementing mobility tax technology.
- Precise communication, sound judgment, and ability to balance employee experience with business and compliance needs.
Compensation
- $220,000–$260,000 annually.
