About the role
Responsibilities
Work with teams across the organization to understand pain points in their infrastructure usage, identify common themes, and create cross-domain solutions
Define and produce high-quality written proposals, communications, and documentation
Help define the frameworks, async platforms, and tooling used to write and operate all Stripe products
Partner with Engineering Managers, Tech Leads, Engineers, and other TPMs to define, scope, and drive large migration programs to completion
Shape technical design, predict roadblocks through engineer collaboration, and identify trade-offs
Develop, implement, and iterate on program management techniques, frameworks, and KPIs with well-defined success criteria
Elevate execution capabilities of engineering teams through training and delivery support
Influence peers and stakeholders, build consensus, and navigate ambiguity
Leverage data and knowledge to drive strategic decisions at the engineering leadership level
Create widely circulated plans that drive consistency, clarity, and alignment across teams
Operationalize and execute critical cross-functional programs spanning Stripe engineering organizations
Requirements
5+ years of software engineering, systems engineering, and/or technical program management experience
Experience with developer products or open source projects
Experience in distributed systems, software libraries/frameworks, and service-oriented architectures
Excellent analytical skills with ability to digest complex information and make recommendations
Track record of providing program management across all phases of software development from kick-off to launch
Strong written and verbal communication skills with ability to build relationships with stakeholders and senior leaders
Experience driving internal and external process improvements across multiple teams and functions
Experience operating autonomously while leading large-scale efforts across multiple teams and time zones
Nice-to-Haves
Experience with AI tool chains and evolving development environments
Background in core infrastructure (database, cloud compute, networking, services)
Experience with technical program management in software infrastructure
Comfort working with geographically distributed teams
