Director, Assistant Controller

About the role

Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop a high-performing team across GL accounting, treasury, and technical accounting.
  • Design, implement, and maintain accounting policies and processes for accurate and timely financial reporting under US GAAP.
  • Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close, reducing timelines and establishing public-company-level controls and reconciliation standards.
  • Serve as the in-house US GAAP technical accounting expert.
  • Partner with Corporate Engineering on Oracle Fusion ERP optimization and automation across the accounting technology stack.
  • Lead the external audit and partner with external auditors to ensure timely completion of the annual audit.
  • Partner with Corporate Development to support M&A activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.
  • CPA certification strongly preferred.
  • 12+ years of experience with increasing scope and leadership responsibility; Big Four and industry experience preferred.
  • Deep technical expertise in US GAAP and other financial reporting requirements.
  • Demonstrated success shortening close cycles and building durable processes.

  • Experience operating in a SOX-controlled environment.

Compensation and Benefits

  • San Francisco, CA: $230,000–$270,000 USD on-target earnings or base salary range.
  • Denver, CO: $195,000–$229,000 USD on-target earnings or base salary range.
