Corporate Counsel will advise sales and business teams on commercial agreements, privacy, compliance, governance, and broader corporate matters across US and UK operations. The role requires a licensed attorney with at least two years of experience and strong practical contract, process-improvement, and independent judgment skills.

Responsibilities
- Draft and negotiate commercial agreements supporting NMI’s US- and UK-based sales teams, including customer proposals and NDAs.
- Provide practical, business-oriented legal and commercial contract advice to colleagues at all organizational levels.
- Support data protection requests and manage data compliance matters.
- Negotiate vendor agreements and advise on contracting models, product design, compliance, corporate governance, and other legal issues.
- Maintain and develop template agreements, contract review guidebooks, and other legal resources.
- Identify and improve legal processes to drive team efficiencies.
Requirements
- 2+ years of legal experience at a law firm or in-house.
- Attorney with a JD and membership in good standing in at least one state bar association.
- Ability to provide practical legal and commercial contract advice.
- Creative, strategic, and process-oriented approach.
- Experience with, or willingness to work on, corporate and commercial matters in both the US and UK.
- Comfortable learning new and unfamiliar matters in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to operate independently and make decisive judgments.
Nice-to-haves
- In-house experience at a fast-growing technology company or experience advising FinTech companies.
- Interest in the payments industry and familiarity with SaaS contracting models.
- Payment industry or account-to-account payment experience.
- Privacy expertise, including familiarity with GDPR.
- CIPP/E or CIPP/M certification.
