Controls Engineer, BMS
Controls Engineer responsible for designing, programming, integrating, and commissioning BMS controls for data center mechanical and electrical systems, including sequences, logic, and third-party equipment integration using protocols like BACnet and Modbus. Requires hands-on BMS experience in large facilities, writing sequences, and commissioning work.
About the job
Responsibilities
- Engineer BMS controls in the reference design: sequences, points lists, and graphics for mechanical and electrical plant.
- Program and configure the platform: logic built, tested, and versioned like the software it is.
- Integrate the systems: chillers, CDUs, power monitoring, and third-party equipment speaking one language.
- Support commissioning: functional tests executed, failures diagnosed, and fixes fed back into the standard.
Requirements
- Programmed BMS platforms hands-on for data centers or large facilities.
- Write sequences from scratch and improve the ones you inherit.
- Integrated equipment over BACnet, Modbus, and vendor protocols.
- Commission your own work and fix what testing finds.
- Version and document logic so the next engineer can own it.
Nice-to-Haves
- Tridium, ALC, or Siemens certification.
- Chilled water and liquid cooling sequences.
- EPMS integration.
- Graphics standards.
