Senior Software Engineer, Developer Experience
Build and evolve the developer platform that enables reliable, efficient software delivery across the company. The role requires 5+ years of software engineering experience, strong programming and system-design fundamentals, and expertise in build systems, CI/CD, testing, and deployment automation.

Responsibilities
- Design and improve the build-to-test-to-deploy pipeline so it is fast, reliable, and automated by default.
- Evolve build-system tooling, including Bazel rules and macros, to meet growing engineering needs.
- Reduce build, test, and deployment latency and decrease slow and flaky tests.
- Build and standardize automated deployment pipelines across environments.
- Lead company-wide modernization, including language, framework, and dependency upgrades and retirement of end-of-life systems.
- Provide visibility into dependency age and technical risk across the codebase.
- Expand support for AI-assisted development workflows and integrate them into standard tooling.
- Lead complex projects from requirements gathering through software design, implementation, and collaboration.
- Provide technical guidance to engineering and research staff.
- Mentor and develop individual contributors.
Requirements
- Computer Science or Engineering degree, or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of software engineering experience.
- Proven software design and implementation experience focused on correctness, robustness, efficiency, and scale.
- Expertise in a modern programming language such as Python, Go, Java, or C++.
- Hands-on experience developing in a Linux/UNIX environment.
- Experience designing and implementing scalable services, tooling, and APIs used by other engineers.
- Experience with build systems or monorepos, such as Bazel or Buck.
- Experience with CI/CD systems, test infrastructure, and deployment automation.
- Familiarity with containerization and deployment technologies such as Docker.
- Experience working with large codebases and building modular, extensible, and maintainable software.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to explain complex ideas clearly and simply.

- Experience with dependency management and large-scale modernization or upgrade efforts.
