About the role

Responsibilities

  • Manage a cohesive, high-functioning team that thrives in an environment of trust, respect, and inclusion.
  • Work with Product leadership, the Security Operations Center, Engineering, and others to develop the Huntress Security Platform threat operations roadmap.
  • Provide technical and managerial leadership to direct reports, specializing in one or more security disciplines (offensive security, vulnerability management, security operations, data science, threat intelligence, etc.).
  • Proactively identify risks, blockers, and operational gaps; bring solutions to leadership.
  • Ensure team members fully understand the goals and objectives of Huntress’ mission and how their work fits into the bigger picture.
  • Support the professional development of researchers in the organization through coaching, mentorship, and performance management.
  • Model strong AI fluency in their own work and set expectations for effective, responsible AI use across the team.
  • Build repeatable team workflows and coach others to use AI in ways that improve research quality, speed, and business outcomes.
  • Use AI to redesign and scale research workflows, establish quality and risk standards, and measure whether adoption is producing meaningful functional impact.

Requirements

  • Experience leading cybersecurity teams with diverse skills and backgrounds, including at least one area of security research and development.
  • Experience managing a capable cybersecurity team, which will attract and hire talent and grow the team as rapidly as necessary.
  • Operates independently, makes decisions, takes action, and is accountable for outcomes.
  • Effective communicator of highly technical concepts within their specialty.
  • Motivated technologist with responsibility for cybersecurity.
  • Uses AI personally, but is also expected to make it repeatable across the team/function through workflow design, coaching, and outcome measurement.

Nice-to-Haves

  • Familiarity with product management, incident response, host-based threat hunting, malware analysis, configuration management, and antivirus technologies.
  • Competitive candidates have experience staffing, motivating, and leading diverse cybersecurity teams who are offense-minded and passionate about using under-leveraged OS functionality to prevent and detect new hacker tradecraft.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base compensation: $195,000-$225,000 with bonus and equity.
