Responsibilities
- Model and solve authentication and security-related problems using AI/ML by understanding system behavior and customer challenges.
- Lead end-to-end model development, selecting the appropriate approach, including training traditional machine learning models or fine-tuning and aligning small or large language models.
- Create and maintain evaluation and training datasets and workflows.
- Take ideas from research through prototyping and product recommendation.
- Evaluate outcomes across quality, security, latency, and cost.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in machine learning or applied research roles.
- Experience leading multiple 0-to-1 AI or ML projects and shipping practical ML or AI systems.
- Strong Python, machine learning frameworks, and software engineering skills.
- Ability to learn quickly and understand computer systems deeply.
- Ability to balance simplicity and flexibility.
- Strong customer empathy and ability to iterate on problem understanding based on feedback, industry trends, and available technology.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.

Compensation and Benefits
- ATS-listed annual salary range: $244,000–$376,200 USD.
- Base salary range in the San Francisco Bay Area: $274,000–$376,200 USD.
- Base salary range in California excluding the San Francisco Bay Area, Colorado, Illinois, New York, and Washington: $244,000–$335,500 USD.

- This is a hybrid role requiring attendance at the local office three times per week.
