Senior Software Engineer responsible for building and operating the reliability, scalability, efficiency, and observability infrastructure of Starburst Galaxy. The role requires cloud architecture and orchestration experience, Java and TypeScript development, and infrastructure-as-code expertise.

Responsibilities
- Develop and optimize the reliability, scalability, and efficiency of the Starburst Galaxy service.
- Design and build core operational infrastructure for Starburst Galaxy using the immutable cloud infrastructure paradigm.
- Develop backend infrastructure for product features and build operational tooling.
- Support the product in production and collaborate with stakeholders on reliability, scalability, and efficiency.
- Own APIs for provisioning and upgrading cloud infrastructure across AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud.
- Enable continuous delivery and build tooling to provision and maintain developer environments.
- Provide observability and administration tooling for Starburst Galaxy and its underlying infrastructure.
- Modify Trino and Starburst Galaxy services to improve introspection and ensure relevant data is accessible to internal and external customers.
- Continuously improve engineering processes, tests, and systems to scale the codebase and team productivity.
- Review peers' pull requests and design proposals.
Requirements
- Passion for software engineering, particularly infrastructure engineering.
- Experience with cloud infrastructure architecture and orchestration.
- Experience developing software in Java and TypeScript.
- Experience with infrastructure as code and related tooling such as Pulumi or Terraform.
- Demonstrated ownership, grit, and bias for action.
