What You'll Do

  • Monitor real-time trading activity across Kalshi’s markets using surveillance tools and data analytics.
  • Design, implement, and continuously improve surveillance approaches to detect market manipulation, insider trading, and other abusive or fraudulent behavior.
  • Conduct in-depth investigations into anomalous or suspicious trading patterns, documenting findings and escalating to internal stakeholders or regulators when appropriate.
  • Identify emerging risks and vulnerabilities in the trading environment and help develop mitigation strategies to prevent market abuse or operational disruptions.
  • Partner closely with engineering to recommend and implement improvements to surveillance systems, data pipelines, and analytical tooling.
  • Produce clear, thorough reports on surveillance activity, trends, and investigations; maintain accurate documentation of procedures and controls.

What You Bring

  • 0–4 years of experience in market surveillance, compliance, risk, or a related role in financial services.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex datasets and identify subtle patterns or anomalies.
  • Proficiency in Python and SQL, including building notebooks, analyses, and data pipelines.
  • Interest in market structure, trading platforms, and financial instruments.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain complex findings to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • High ethical standards, sound judgment, and a strong commitment to confidentiality and market integrity.
  • Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, evolving environment with incomplete information.

Compensation: NYC salary range $100,000 to $140,000 annually plus equity and benefits.
