What You'll Do
Monitor real-time trading activity across Kalshi’s markets using surveillance tools and data analytics.
Design, implement, and continuously improve surveillance approaches to detect market manipulation, insider trading, and other abusive or fraudulent behavior.
Conduct in-depth investigations into anomalous or suspicious trading patterns, documenting findings and escalating to internal stakeholders or regulators when appropriate.
Identify emerging risks and vulnerabilities in the trading environment and help develop mitigation strategies to prevent market abuse or operational disruptions.
Partner closely with engineering to recommend and implement improvements to surveillance systems, data pipelines, and analytical tooling.
Produce clear, thorough reports on surveillance activity, trends, and investigations; maintain accurate documentation of procedures and controls.
What You Bring
0–4 years of experience in market surveillance, compliance, risk, or a related role in financial services.
Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex datasets and identify subtle patterns or anomalies.
Proficiency in Python and SQL, including building notebooks, analyses, and data pipelines.
Interest in market structure, trading platforms, and financial instruments.
Clear written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain complex findings to technical and non-technical audiences.
