Responsibilities
- Manage research studies for internal product validation, prototype testing, new feature development, and large-scale external validation studies.
- Handle subject recruitment, screening, and scheduling; build beta tester and lab tester databases.
- Manage day-to-day study operations including IRB submissions, recruitment, scheduling, reminders, equipment ordering.
- Perform hands-on data collection (80-90% of time), study setup, and monitoring (evenings 6-9 PM weeknights, weekends).
- Maintain accurate study records and regulatory documentation per IRB and HIPAA guidelines.
- Conduct quality assurance on collected data, follow up with subjects.
Requirements
- 1+ years experience running human factors research, user testing, or in-person human research studies.
- Experience with prototype hardware, software, Google suite, and command line tools.
- Basic understanding of hardware, software, and firmware for data collection.
- Superior communication skills, time management, organizational skills, attention to detail.
- Willing to work nights/weekends, locally travel to users' homes (must have car), lift ~25 pounds.
Preferred
- 2+ years in wearable/medical devices or human monitoring tech.
- Experience with small/large-scale user research studies (in-person/decentralized).
- Coding in Python.
- Startup experience.
- Experience with informed consents and HIPAA data management.
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Human Physiology, Psychology, Neuroscience, Computer Science (or related field).
