Responsibilities
- Take ownership of the mobile product lifecycle, from conceptualization, through design & development, all the way to launch.
- Maintain high coding standards through the development of guidelines, active participation in code reviews, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and knowledge sharing.
- Champion the security, performance, and stability of our applications by implementing and overseeing robust testing, monitoring, and release processes.
- Actively improve user workflows by collaborating with cross-functional teams, ensuring seamless experiences across product boundaries and a cohesive user experience.
- Build the definitive application for private mobile communication using Swift and SwiftUI.
- Solve hard technical challenges in security and cryptography to secure PII, account data, and voice & SMS traffic.
- Own the entire feature lifecycle—from architectural design to App Store launch.
Requirements
- 4+ years of iOS software development experience.
- Engineering background in Computer Science, Mathematics, Software Engineering, Physics or similar field.
- Proficiency in Swift and a strong foundational understanding of the iOS ecosystem (architecture, app lifecycle, etc.).
- Experience with Swift Concurrency (async/await) for building responsive, performant applications.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to iterate quickly with teammates, incorporating feedback and holding a high bar for quality.
- Proven ability to learn continuously, work independently, and make decisions with minimal supervision.
- Experience brainstorming and iterating with product designers.
- Thoughtful, practical approach to problem-solving that considers tradeoffs.
- Skill and comfort working in a constantly evolving environment with dynamic objectives.
- Ability to work collaboratively in teams of technical and non-technical individuals.
- Understanding of cryptographic systems and how to design privacy conscious solutions.
- Ability to learn new technology and concepts, even without in-depth experience.
Nice-to-Haves
- Professional experience with SwiftUI.
- Familiarity with frameworks like Combine or Core Data.
- Hands-on experience with the end-to-end App Store release process.
- Knowledge of cryptography, secure enclave, or cellular technologies (eSIM, 4G, 5G).
