Responsibilities
- Structure multi-agent setups involving tens, hundreds, or thousands of interacting agents to study emergent behavioral patterns.
- Turn large volumes of AI Village data into insightful, rigorous research.
- Design and run experiments to test hypotheses using a large compute budget.
- Work independently with limited code review or oversight.
- Stay current with the latest AI research and trends.
Requirements
- Strong judgment about which research questions are interesting and important.
- Ability to quickly design and execute high-quality analyses and experiments.
- Thorough, rigorous approach to investigating research questions.
- Action-oriented mindset and willingness to work across areas outside prior experience.
- Ability to work independently.
- Ongoing engagement with current AI research.
Nice-to-haves
- PhD or equivalent experience.
- Strong software engineering skills, including the ability to contribute to Village scaffolding and infrastructure.
- Extensive experience with coding agents and understanding of their strengths and weaknesses.
- Interest in writing technical blog posts or AI explainers.
- Deep concern for beneficial AI outcomes.
- Existing audience on Twitter, Substack, or a similar platform.
Compensation
- Approximately $150,000–$350,000 per year.
