FluidstackAustin, TXOwn end-to-end fire protection design and strategy for 50GW+ AI data centers, from concept through commissioning. Own the fire protection scope of design packages from concept through construction documents across the data center portfolio, designing and specifying VESDA and addressable fire alarm, pre-action sprinkler, wet pipe, and clean agent suppression systems.
Serve as primary point of contact with local fire marshals and AHJs on every site, running plan reviews and negotiating code-compliant equivalencies on non-standard designs so permitting stays off the critical path.
Develop campus-level fire suppression strategy, coordinating water supply, distribution, and system redundancy across multiple buildings and phases of a build-out.
Review and approve fire protection submittals and shop drawings from EPC and equipment vendors, and validate third-party consultant designs for code compliance and consistency with standards before they advance to construction.
Support commissioning of fire detection and suppression systems with the Commissioning Agent, resolving test failures before sign-off, and provide fire protection input on capacity additions, retrofits, and incident-driven remediation on live sites.
Own geotechnical engineering for 50GW+ data center development: lead subsurface investigations, interpret data for foundation and ground improvement decisions, perform fatal-flaw site screening, and coordinate with structural/civil/environmental teams across multiple states.
Build and maintain reliability models for 50GW+ data center designs using RBDs, FTAs, and Monte Carlo simulations to quantify P99 availability across MEP systems. Own reliability studies at design gates, manage consultants, and translate findings into actionable recommendations for SLAs and capital allocation.
Create standardized controls designs, sequences of operations, points lists, BOMs, and Division 25 specs for modular data center builds. Coordinate across MEP teams for repeatable, error-free deployment of 50GW+ infrastructure.
Lead HV/MV substation design up to 345 kV for hyperscale data center campuses, owning full design packages, engineering studies, equipment specs, and utility interconnections. Requires 8+ years of substation design experience and a bachelor's in electrical engineering.
Senior Electrical Engineer designing modular, factory-built electrical infrastructure (e-houses, switchgear skids, prefabricated rooms) for gigawatt-scale data centers. Owns end-to-end design, standardization, vendor collaboration, and site integration.
