Responsibilities
- Build backend product capabilities for an identity platform, including new API surfaces and core authentication flows for agentic and non-human identity use cases.
- Partner with Product and Engineering leadership to set direction, translate customer needs into product capabilities, and deliver roadmap features.
- Collaborate across teams on architecture, platform integration, and cross-team initiatives.
- Own technical design and implementation: author design documents, make technical decisions, review code, and maintain close ownership of shipped systems.
- Break down complex problems, make pragmatic tradeoffs, and design developer experiences.
- Improve production quality and resilience through observability, incident response, and remediation.
- Mentor and support engineers through pairing, feedback, and knowledge sharing.
- Participate in non-standard hours, including on-call rotations, weekends, and holidays.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience designing, building, and operating high-scale, mission-critical cloud production systems.
- Experience working with production-grade codebases in modern programming languages and applying coding best practices.
- Extensive experience designing and developing RESTful APIs.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent industry experience.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work non-standard hours as part of an on-call rotation.
Nice-to-haves
- Familiarity with Go, TypeScript, and DynamoDB.
- Experience building developer tools or SDKs.
- Experience building and owning products used by paying customers.
- Hands-on builder mindset and passion for seeing work through to production.
Compensation and benefits
- For eligible locations, salary ranges are $106,320–$132,900; $112,560–$140,700; or $125,040–$156,300, depending on geographic location.
- Potential eligibility for equity and a corporate bonus plan.
- Benefits may include healthcare insurance, a 401(k) retirement account, paid sick time, paid personal time off, and paid parental leave.
