Commercial Counsel, EMEA
The Commercial Counsel will advise Stripe’s EMEA sales organization, lead commercial negotiations, and help scale contracting processes and legal infrastructure. The role requires at least seven years of relevant legal experience, strong commercial and technology-services knowledge, and fluency in French and English.

Responsibilities
- Support the EMEA sales team by leading negotiations and advising on commercial and legal issues.
- Help build Stripe's commercial legal infrastructure, including drafting and maintaining agreements and playbooks.
- Lead and contribute to projects that improve internal processes and operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with sales, privacy, operations, product, tax, and risk teams.
- Develop and deliver training and resources to help the Sales team sell products.
- Serve as a point of escalation for outside counsel.
Requirements
- 7+ years of relevant experience as a lawyer in-house or in a technology practice group at a top law firm.
- Intellectual curiosity and creative problem-solving skills.
- A proactive, self-starting approach and strong sense of ownership.
- Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate across functions and drive win-win solutions.
- Familiarity with legal issues and commercial risks related to hosted data and technology services.
- High professional fluency in French and English.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience in payments or fintech and knowledge of associated regulatory issues.
- In-house experience advising high-growth technology companies.
- Working knowledge of data protection and AI regulations.
