Cyber Claims Counsel
Handles cyber-incident and litigation claims across France, assessing liability, coverage, reserves, and settlement opportunities while coordinating counsel and external providers. Requires at least three years of cyber-claims experience, fluent French and English, and strong stakeholder-management skills.

Responsibilities
- Handle intake of cyber incidents, coordinating breach counsel, forensic investigators, and other external partners.
- Evaluate the full portfolio of claims in France.
- Post claims promptly and recommend accurate reserves in line with company and partner-carrier guidelines.
- Handle complex and litigated claims, including third-party liability arising from security failures or data breaches.
- Maintain accurate claim-file documentation in the claims system.
- Assess liability, quantum, and coverage; document analysis, strategy, and decisions clearly.
- Guide and monitor third-party service providers, including work quality, strategy, and spend.
- Develop relationships with brokers, insured stakeholders, and key partners in the French market.
- Identify and pursue settlement opportunities.
- Coordinate defense strategy with counsel and stakeholders to drive timely claim resolution.
- Provide data and insights to underwriters.
- Support business development through marketing, client presentations, and sales discussions.
- Liaise with partner carriers.
- Lead client engagement activities, including cyber-incident preparedness and tabletop exercises.
- Advise the global claims team on claims-handling requirements and market practices in France and other EEA countries.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience handling cyber claims and litigation.
- Fluent French and English.
- Bachelor’s degree (Bac +3) or equivalent work experience.
- Experience working collaboratively in a fast-paced, changing environment while also operating proactively and independently.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder-interaction skills.
Nice to Have
- Experience handling wider financial-lines claims, including D&O and E&O.
- Experience handling European cyber incidents.
- University diploma in Insurance Law or Insurance Management (Bac +4/Bac +5 or equivalent).
- Italian and/or Spanish language skills.
- Experience handling claims for the Spanish and/or Italian market.
