Senior Associate, Medical Benefits

About the role

What You Will Work On

  • Perform day-to-day operations for all medical offerings
  • Work with insurance carriers to resolve escalated issues (enrollment errors, plan coding issues, and other discrepancies), escalating trends to the Team Lead
  • Collect plan and pricing data from carriers, and work within the carriers' systems to enroll groups and individuals timely
  • Maintain consistent urgency, ownership, and proactive communication with partners and vendors
  • Partner with Product, Engineering, and Legal teams to improve systems and resolve issues
  • Assist Team Lead with new-hire training and mentoring new members
  • Flag trends and bugs to the Team Lead and Manager, partnering to understand scope, impact, and drive operational efficiencies
  • Identify and remediate problems by developing and updating standard operating procedures
  • Build out and maintain internal benefit resources (help articles, Confluence, training decks, process documentation, etc.)
  • Resolve complex benefit inquiries/issues generated by Customer Success and Sales teams within agreed SLAs
  • Adhere to vendor and internal partner SLAs
  • Triage incoming issues/inquiries to identify need for additional intervention and escalate accordingly
  • Maintain vendor relationships by leading conference calls, setting agenda items, and corresponding with account managers
  • Execute regular filing and/or any additional regulatory duties
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Qualifications

Required:

  • Minimum of 3 years of work experience in a similar role
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, data-driven environment
  • Experience working cross-functionally
  • Experience with partnership management
  • Experience with Jira and Confluence or similar software
  • Ability to work both independently and as a team
  • Strong analytical, written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to learn new technologies quickly

Preferred:

  • Partnership management experience
  • SQL knowledge

Role specific:

  • Knowledge of Employer Sponsored Benefit Plans strongly preferred

Compensation

The base wage range for this position based in our New York City Office is $67,000 to $81,500 per year. Actual compensation is based on multiple factors including skill set, level of relevant experience, and specific work location.
