Own the strategy and execution of Okta’s authentication policy platform, including policy evaluation, APIs, operational controls, and secure rollouts. The role requires 6+ years of product management experience and expertise in identity, security, enterprise, platform, or developer products.

Responsibilities
- Own the roadmap and prioritization for Okta’s authentication policy product area.
- Collaborate with design and engineering to define, scope, and ship secure, user-friendly policy capabilities.
- Drive product direction for the Policy Framework, Policy API, and Auth Pipeline.
- Define operational management for policy changes, including versioning, staged rollouts, auditability, and rollback.
- Work with customers, Solutions Engineering, Support, and product teams to translate policy needs into product requirements.
- Use AI tools for specification writing, competitive analysis, and rapid prototyping.
- Coordinate with global engineering, field, partnerships, and marketing teams to support launches and adoption.
- Represent Policies in customer escalations, executive briefings, enterprise evaluations, and marketing and go-to-market partnerships.
- Track trends in adaptive authentication, risk-based access, and session security.
Requirements
- 6+ years of product management experience.
- Experience with identity, security, enterprise-scale, platform, or developer products.
- Ability to conduct in-depth technical discussions with engineering teams.
- Ability to connect platform decisions to business outcomes and market positioning.
- Strong customer empathy and problem-discovery skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication, from detailed specifications to executive narratives.
- Entrepreneurial ownership and ability to drive ambiguous initiatives forward.
- Collaborative approach with customers and cross-functional stakeholders.
Nice to Have
- Experience with policy engines, rules-based decisioning systems, or risk-scoring products.
- Experience with change-management tooling, feature flags, or safe-rollout systems at scale.
- Experience with non-human identity or agentic identity use cases related to authentication policy.
Compensation
- United States base salary: $189,000–$260,000 for candidates in the San Francisco Bay Area; $169,000–$232,000 for candidates in California excluding the San Francisco Bay Area, Colorado, Illinois, New York, and Washington.
- Canada base salary: $146,000–$200,000 CAD.
- Compensation may also include equity, bonus, and benefits. Canadian benefits include RRSP matching, healthcare spending, telemedicine, and paid leave.
