About the role

Responsibilities

Strategic Analysis and Valuation

  • Own valuation frameworks for data and product partnerships and develop new approaches as partnerships evolve.
  • Build valuation models, partnership evaluation frameworks, and ROI analyses for partnership initiatives.
  • Maintain a benchmark library of comparable transactions and historical pricing.
  • Conduct industry and competitive research to inform strategic decisions.
  • Serve as the internal expert on partnership spend, historical transactions, and forward planning.
  • Turn complex, ambiguous challenges into clear analyses and recommendations.

Deal Support and Negotiation Strategy

  • Review inbound proposals and partner pricing and provide deal leads with defensible analytical perspectives.
  • Develop data-grounded negotiation strategies with deal leads.
  • Support partner managers in navigating novel partnership structures.

Operational Excellence

  • Design scalable systems and processes that improve team efficiency, leveraging Claude to build them.
  • Build dashboards and reporting infrastructure tracking portfolio health, deal pipeline, spend, usage, and key success metrics.
  • Optimize the partnership lifecycle, including sourcing, inbound tracking, contracts, cross-functional approvals, delivery, and feedback loops.
  • Liaise between Partnerships, Research, Product, and Finance teams to address operational challenges.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in management consulting, investment banking, private equity, growth equity, venture capital, or technology-company strategy and operations.
  • Exceptional analytical skills and advanced financial modeling proficiency.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence and align stakeholders across Research, Product, Partnerships, Finance, and Legal.
  • Ability to independently own workstreams from question through decision.
  • Strong judgment and conviction, combined with openness to update conclusions as data evolves.
  • Ability to ramp quickly on unfamiliar subject matter and identify value drivers.
  • Experience building processes and systems from 0 to 1.
  • Proactive use of AI tools to automate repetitive analysis.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Relevant field of study demonstrated through coursework, training, or professional experience.

Nice-to-Haves

  • Operating experience inside a company, beyond advisory or investing roles.
  • Experience with negotiations, deal structuring, or partnerships.
  • Background in data, content, or product licensing.
  • Fluency with Claude or other AI tools in daily analytical work.
  • Proficiency with SQL, Python, or similar tools.
  • Sense of humor.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Annual salary: $205,000–$240,000 USD.
  • Hybrid policy: staff are generally expected to work from an office at least 25% of the time, with some roles requiring more.
  • Visa sponsorship is available for eligible roles and candidates.
