Senior Software Engineer, Enterprise

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the design and development of TimescaleDB Enterprise, our on-prem deployment and management platform.
• Develop core product capabilities including management consoles and user-facing tooling (React + TypeScript), backend APIs and services (Go), deployment workflows and configuration management (Ansible), operational tooling for production PostgreSQL databases, and customer administration experiences.
• Write tests at every level, from unit tests to automated end-to-end testing against real infrastructure.
• Work with senior engineers to understand operational requirements and translate them into pragmatic product solutions.
• Implement new features while improving reliability, usability, and operational simplicity.
• Collaborate with Platform Engineering and cross-functional stakeholders across Product, Support, and Sales Engineering.
• Support the implementation of the long-term product and technical direction of the Enterprise platform.
• Operate effectively in ambiguous environments where priorities evolve and drive clarity.
• Leverage AI tools daily to accelerate development, debugging, and product iteration workflows.

Requirements

• Foundational software engineering experience (roughly 1-3 years, including internships or substantial projects), ideally with exposure to backend services, developer platforms, or infrastructure tools.
• Working knowledge of Go or TypeScript, or a track record of picking up new languages quickly.
• Comfort with Linux fundamentals: the shell, SSH, services, containers, and basic networking.
• Interest in working across multiple layers of a system, from backend services to user-facing tooling.
• Familiarity and growing proficiency with AI coding tools.
• Experience working in collaborative environments with other technical contributors.
• Naturally curious with a desire to take ownership.
• Eager to learn how to navigate ambiguity.
• Desire to think holistically about products, workflows, and long-term evolution.
• Emerging product intuition to translate customer pain points into solutions.
